2. Introduction
Kenyatta University became the second university in Kenya to mount the Doctor of Philosophy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry). Upon completion, graduates are awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry)
Doctor of Philosophy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) by thesis is a research-intensive postgraduate program designed for individuals seeking to advance their expertise in the study of fundamental theories and concepts in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and capable of leading innovative research projects in Pharmaceutical Analysis and Medicinal Chemistry.
This program focuses on discovery, design, synthesis, and analysis of pharmaceutical compounds. The candidates will be trained and mentored on understanding the chemical principles underlying drug action, optimizing therapeutic agents, and developing novel drug delivery systems.

The common University regulations for PhD degree shall apply.
The general regulations for PhD degree in the School of Health Sciences shall apply.
In addition, Applicants will be required to have a Master’s Degree in Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Botany or other related pharmacy and science areas from Kenyatta University or any other recognized institution.
