The School of Medicine was established in August 2004 as a Center of Excellence in Health research, capacity building and product development. The School has grown has grown rapidly and has seen Public Health component branch off to form the School of Public Health. The School offers several Senate and Government approved and regulated health related programmes and is currently using several Government Health facilities for the clinical placements, attachments and rotations of its students as it puts up a modern Teaching, research and Referral Hospital commissioned by His Excellency President Mwai Kibaki.
The mission of the School is to produce highly trained, competent and adaptable health care providers with acumen in health care provision in all settings.
